This seat mount is used for road racing and S2000 with Kirkey seats and a hard dog roll bar. The belt rod has a diameter of 1 1/2 â, but I mounted it on the 1 3/4 â bulkhead rod instead. The thicker wall and proximity to the seat are ideal. I hope I never have to test its safety, but it is required for many seats without FIA certification. This also makes the seat much stiffer, allowing for better return of the car. I received the Scram Speed seat mount today. It was well packaged and the quality is too notched. It seems to be a chromolia with beautiful welds. If I had to find something negative, it would be the size of the plate that attaches to the back of the seat. It could be larger to better distribute the load. Excellent quality, the welds are top notch. Installation was easy.
