After working in Nijmegen for 14 years, Mr. Vekemans decided to work with Mr. H. Bothof, an accountant based in Arnhem. The new name of the office became Vekemans & Bothof, accountant. When Mr. Bothof left the partnership, he continued as Vekemans & Berk, an accountant. In 1953, Mr. Berk left the partnership to pursue his career at Berk Kampen, a family business in Kampen known as BK as a producer of pots and pans. Baker Tilly was founded in 1914. More than a century later, we have become one of the top ten audit and tax consulting firms in the Netherlands. Over the past hundred years, we have worked under different names and logos.

In 2001, another small change was made: the official name of our organization became Berk, if necessary, followed by the addition of Accountants & Belastingadviseurs. Since 1 January 2008, the legal form of Berk has been changed to a joint-stock company.
